Questions

Does this invoice need the VAT reverse charge wording?

Often, yes. If you are VAT registered and supply most construction work to another VAT-registered contractor, the domestic reverse charge usually applies: you do not add VAT and the invoice says the customer must account for it, for example "Reverse charge: customer to pay the VAT to HMRC". There are exceptions, so confirm with your accountant or HMRC.

Can I use this CIS invoice template for free?

Yes. Download, print and fill it in without signing up.

How much CIS should be deducted?

The deduction can depend on your registration status. Confirm the correct rate with your contractor or accountant.

Should materials be shown separately?

Yes, list materials separately so the contractor can see the amounts. Ask your accountant how to treat them.
