Quote the whole job, not just the points
Photos of the board and the rooms plus a description. JobGuard asks how many points, what is being chased in and what stays, then suggests a range for each line. You set the figures.
“While you’re here, can you add…”
One more socket, an outside light, a spur for the new kitchen. Each one goes to the client as extra work with a price, and they sign on their phone. No more arguing about it at the end.
For homeowners and main contractors
Homeowner invoices with your VAT and deposit. Subcontract invoices with CIS taken off the labour and VAT reverse charge when the job needs it.
A dated record behind every wall
Photos of the cable runs before the plaster goes on, saved with their date and time on the job. If someone asks later, you can show what went in.
Every receipt from the wholesaler
Snap the receipt for cable, consumer units and fittings. It is saved on the job with its date and adds to the invoice with one tap, so nothing bought for the job goes uncharged.

Questions
Can I invoice a main contractor with CIS?
Yes. Choose CIS on the invoice and the deduction comes off the labour. Reverse charge VAT is there too. Check the right treatment with your accountant.
Can I photograph work before it is covered?
Yes. Photos and notes on a job keep the date and time they were taken and cannot be changed afterwards.
Do clients need an app to approve extra work?
No. They open a link in their phone’s browser and enter a 6-digit PIN.
