Terms of use

Please read these before using JobGuard.

1. What JobGuard is

JobGuard is a support tool for tradespeople. It helps you keep a record of your projects (photos, notes, scope, variations and client approvals) and points out things that might be worth your attention. It does not replace your own professional judgement, and it is not a surveyor, estimator, accountant or lawyer.

2. Your account

You are responsible for keeping your login details safe and for everything done through your account. We may deactivate an account that breaks these terms or is used to misuse the service.

3. AI-generated content

Some features use artificial intelligence to read documents, transcribe voice notes and flag possible extra work. AI output can be wrong or incomplete. Nothing JobGuard flags becomes part of your project record until you confirm it, and you should check everything before relying on it.

4. Price suggestions are guidance only

Any price, price range, market rate or benchmark shown in JobGuard is a JobGuard suggestion. It is not a quote, a valuation or a recommended price, and you should not rely on it.

Suggestions are based on limited data (your own history, anonymous figures from other users and, where available, external sources). They cannot take into account the specifics of your job, your costs, your materials or local conditions.

You must always prepare your own prices and quotes. You alone are responsible for every price you send to a client, and for any loss resulting from a price you set.

5. Evidence and records

JobGuard helps you keep records, but we don't guarantee that any record, photo, report or client approval will be accepted as evidence in a dispute. Keep your own copies of anything important.

Project records and the Contemporaneous Evidence Bundle are a contemporaneous record of your own project data. They are not a Referral Notice, payment notice, pay less notice or any other statutory notice under the Housing Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996, and using JobGuard does not start adjudication or any other legal process. 5a. Your clients and the client portal

You can share a project page and approval links with your client. They don't need an account. Approving extra work needs a 6-digit PIN that you give the client separately; keep it private and change it (Client portal → New PIN) if you think someone else has it.

You are responsible for what you share with your client and for having their permission to store their details and photos of their property. The portal shows only before, progress, after and extra-work photos — issue photos stay private to you.

6. Plans and licenses

The Free plan has limits on projects and AI usage. Tester and Pro access may be granted by license for a set period, and ends when the license expires or is revoked.

7. Liability

JobGuard is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost profit, lost work or decisions you make based on information shown in the app, including price suggestions and AI output. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. If the changes are significant, we will let you know in the app.

9. Data we use to improve JobGuard

To improve JobGuard's features — especially price suggestions and the AI tools — the JobGuard team (our administrators) can see, for each account:

We use this only to improve and support JobGuard (for example to make price ranges more realistic, find features that don't work well and plan AI limits). We don't sell it, and we don't show your rates to other users or to your clients. Figures from many users may be combined into anonymous statistics, as described in section 4.
