Privacy notice

What JobGuard keeps about you, why, and what you can do about it.

1. What we keep

Your account: email, name, business name, trade, phone and business address.
Your hourly rate, and the prices, rates and quotes on your projects.
Your projects: photos, notes, voice notes, diary entries, extra work and client decisions.
Receipts you add: the photo, the shop, date, items and prices. Your client sees the receipts you don't hide from them, and material prices read from them are kept as your own price list for your AI quotes.
Details of your clients that you add (name, email, phone) and the client's PIN attempts and decisions.
A log of your AI use: what each call was for, the date and the project.
Billing status from Stripe (we never see your full card number).

2. Why we use it

To run the app for you — your records, AI quotes, the client portal, reminders and billing (needed to provide the service you signed up for).
To improve JobGuard — the JobGuard team (our administrators) can see your hourly rate, the rates and contract prices on your projects, and what you use AI for. We use this to make price suggestions more realistic, find features that don't work well and plan AI limits (our legitimate interest in improving the service). Figures from many users may be combined into anonymous statistics.
To keep the service safe — limits on AI use, login and PIN protection, and an audit record of important actions.

We don't sell your data, and we don't show your rates to other users or to your clients. The content of your AI conversations is not stored in the AI log.

3. Who else handles it

Only the services JobGuard is built on, to do their part of the job:

Supabase — database, file storage and login.
OpenAI — AI quotes, transcription and the other AI features (the text and photos you send for that call).
Stripe — payments.
Twilio — WhatsApp messages you send to JobGuard.
Open-Meteo and postcodes.io — weather for a site and distances between postcodes.

4. How long we keep it

While your account is open. Deleting a project deletes its photos and records. If you ask us to close your account, we delete your data, except what we must keep by law (for example payment records).

5. Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to us using your rates and AI use to improve JobGuard. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
