A roof quote from photos
Photos from the ladder or the drone plus a few words, typed or by voice. JobGuard splits the job into lines - strip, felt and batten, slates or tiles, leadwork, scaffold - and suggests a range for each one. You pick every figure.
What you find when the old roof comes off
Rotten boards, a sagging rafter, more broken slates than you could see from below. Take a photo, price it as extra work and the client signs on their phone before you carry on, not after the scaffold is down.
Weather days and the client
Photos and notes go on the job as you work. A weekly update shows the client what was done, so a week lost to rain is not a row when the invoice lands.
Working for a main contractor
Invoices can take CIS off the labour and use VAT reverse charge when the job needs it, alongside the normal invoices for homeowners.
Merchant receipts on the job
Snap the receipt for slates, battens, lead and fixings. It is saved on the job with its date and adds to the invoice with one tap, so no material goes uncharged.
Easy to miss on a roofing quote
- Scaffold hire, and more weeks if the job overruns
- Skip or waste removal for the old covering
- Replacing rotten boards or fascias once exposed
- Lead flashings, valleys and soakers
- Ridge and verge fixings to current standards
- Protecting gardens, conservatories and drives below
JobGuard lists items like these under Easy to miss before you send the quote.

Questions
Can I add the scaffold as its own line?
Yes. Each line has its own quantity and price - weeks of scaffold, square metres of roof or a fixed price.
What if I find rotten timber once I strip the roof?
Add it as extra work with a photo and a price. The client gets a link and a PIN and signs on their phone, so it is agreed before you do it.
Does it work for small repairs?
Yes. A job can be one line and one invoice. The Free plan covers up to 2 jobs a month, with no card needed.
